The RXT-4113+ xWDM OTDR module is designed to operate with the VeEX RXT-1200 multi-service, modular test platform. With the evolution of communication network architectures, OTDRs have also had to evolve to meet the diverse test and measurement needs of modern fiber optic networks. Historically, customers would buy different types of OTDRs depending on the network type they had to evaluate. To support multiple network types, another OTDR had to be installed or swapped.
The RXT-4113+ xWDM OTDR module can be configured to offer test support for various fiber optic networks and requirements. Contractors prefer to carry a single OTDR with built-in launch fiber to verify correct channel routing and provision network testing. Consolidating all these network test capabilities into a single OTDR module can reduce operational expenses, improve workflow, and ultimately reduce capital costs. Test results can be uploaded directly from the RXT platform to VeEX’s Fiberizer Cloud via Internet connection, simplifying post analysis, data archiving or advanced reporting by back-office personnel.
Additionally, VeEX’s RXT-1200 platform with OTDRs includes additional features at no extra cost, such as VeExpress to help companies keep their OTDRs up to date with the latest software versions and updates; built-in web browser for PC remote access and control when connected onto the same network; and EZ Remote to temporarily grant VeEX Customer Care remote access for real-time operation and troubleshooting assistance when in the field.
