Who Could Use a Good Partner?

Whenever I have a challenging project or issue to deal with I look for a good "partner in crime" to help get me through it. Even in my younger years, I always had one really good friend, teammate, or confidant, to walk me through life’s challenging times.

Think about your childhood TV heroes. The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Batman and Robin, Scooby Doo and Shaggy, Han Solo and Chewbacca (my favorite).

Good partners always make things easier and better.

This summer I was on a mission to learn how the ISE team could be better partners with you — our readers. I asked you: How you engage with ISE educational content? What topics are most valuable to you? Are there pain points in your work that we aren’t covering?

During my conversations, one theme resonated again and again: you all spoke to the need for true business partners. A reciprocal relationship for the long-term. One you invest in, even when it doesn’t benefit you immediately. Those are the types of relationships that build long-term value and trust.

We recently worked with AT&T and VIAVI Solutions on an OTDR video training project founded on this exact type of business partnership. Together, we created concise how-to training videos for a niche group of fiber testers. The bonus is, these videos are available to anyone on our website. So, not only do AT&T testing professionals benefit from them, you do as well. Take a look for yourself on our video page at ise.mediaquest.co/videos.

During the process, my AT&T contact casually said that he never realized ISE could be such a strong educational partner. Those words were music to my ears. For 30 years, our company has focused on bringing telecom network education to you in an interesting and digestible manner. We continue to be passionate about partnering with telecom and ICT companies to help you succeed in this competitive industry.

I encourage you to take time during ISE EXPO 2019 to connect with your current business partners and to make new ones. Talk face-to-face with each other and learn how you can build on your respective organizations’ strengths.

You never know what could evolve from your efforts there. Perhaps the relationships made and nurtured at ISE EXPO could grow into something quite powerful. (Maybe the next best thing since Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear and Woody?)

Your Educational Business Partner,
Janice Oliva
President
