VCTI has announced the launch of Broadband IQ™, a new SaaS product designed to help service providers analyze markets for network expansion, and develop construction plans and budgets without sending teams into the field.
VCTI was an honoree in ISE's 2024 Network Innovators' Awards program with their FiberIQ product.
This new software suite focuses on "where to build" and "how to build," according to VCTI. Service providers can access VCTI's data and analysis via a self-serve model and use VCTI's related services to interpret the information and build expansion plans.
"Our Sparklight regions began using Broadband IQ late last year, and we're thrilled to see our Operations, Sales, and Engineering teams leveraging the tool to identify expansion opportunities and analyze key statistical data for faster, more informed decision-making. Broadband IQ has made us more agile and aware in our growing markets," said Doug Guthrie, VP of Systems Operations at Sparklight. "With its intuitive interface and seamless sharing capabilities, collaboration has reached new heights. The VCTI team has been an exceptional partner for many years, and I look forward to our continued success with Broadband IQ!"
"Where to Build"
Broadband IQ's "Where to Build" capabilities are intended to help service providers assess opportunities so they can more quickly highlight high-value markets. VCTI accesses data from a variety of sources to analyze the impact of existing fiber deployments, competitors, demographics, housing density, while also identifying the number of grant-eligible locations within the target footprint and up to six miles out.
VCTI believes this can help defend market share as providers get insight into which competitors can expand into their territory.
"BEAD is introducing a sense of urgency for service providers, as they must respond to these grant opportunities quickly, but still need to think strategically about their long-term growth," explained VCTI CEO Raj Singh. "Traditionally, assessing the growth opportunity in a given market has been laborious and expensive. With Broadband IQ, we have developed a solution that puts all of the relevant data right at the service provider's fingertips, allowing 24/7 access to vital market data, including insight into existing infrastructure and competitive inroads, so they can make smart decisions quickly."
"How to Build"
Broadband IQ uess AI with the goal of allowing service providers to make fast, data-driven decisions to take advantage of market opportunities. The software provides infrastructure mapping and terrain intelligence with guidance on construction implications, perhaps without the need to send anyone into the field for inspections.
The company says Broadband IQ's expansion planning process utilizes information such as competitive and demographic trends, the modeling of competitive overbuild impact, and cost implications for aerial and underground deployment to create actionable insights.
"Service providers have traditionally had to balance the need for accurate cost estimates at the planning stage with the need for speed and agility to capture opportunities," continued Singh. "Now, with Broadband IQ, they can access relevant data and analysis in hours, not days or weeks, changing the game and turbo charging growth in the broadband industry."
