Summary

The Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program promises to connect communities throughout the U.S. to high-speed internet. It has dominated discussions within the broadband community since it was signed into law as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021. But the complexities of this government-funded program will result in multi-layered processes, from funding applications through customer connectivity. This webinar, hosted by ISE, describes in detail the BEAD program from the perspective of its practical effect on parties directly involved in it—including network operators/service providers, consultants, and EF&I (engineering/furnish/install) contractors. While it has been years since the IIJA was signed into law, the day-to-day implications of BEAD-funded projects will hit home soon for principals of fiber-installation projects. Join us for this informative webinar, which will deliver up-to-date, useful information for those on the front lines of BEAD implementation.
Attendees will gain insight into the following aspects of the BEAD Program.

  • What BEAD is and what it isn't, related to broadband network installation
  • Funding breakdown--What do government funds pay for, and what is the network operator's responsibility?
  • Navigating the funding-application process, including timelines
  • How technology providers can assist
  • Checklist of timelines, milestones, and project details
