Approved Networks Announces OSFP 800G DR8 Transceiver

The transceiver provides compatibility for both InfiniBand and Ethernet networks, the company says.

Approved Networks, provider of optical networking technology, announced its new OSFP 800G DR8 transceiver. The product is intended for high-speed data transmission and the company foresees its enabling of data-heavy AI applications.

The OSFP 800G DR8 transceiver provides compatibility for both InfiniBand and Ethernet networks. It delivers transmission capabilities up to 500 meters, as well as scalability, which the company claims is "ideal for future-proofing data centers and broadband networks."

"With the introduction of the OSFP 800G DR8 transceiver, Approved Networks is once again at the forefront of innovation in the field of fiber optics," said Timothy Yanda, Senior Director of Engineering at Approved Networks, in a press release.
